UPSEE Eligibility 2020
For admission to the first year of BTech programmes:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should clear Class 12th from UP board or any other recognized board/ university with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in aggregate in the required three subjects.
- Subject Combination: The combination of three subjects that candidates should have in Class 12th in order to be eligible for UPSEE exam are:

- Age criteria: There is no age limit to appear for UPSEE 2020 exam.
UPSEE Eligibility 2020 for admission to the first year of BTech Agriculture programme
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should clear Class 12th in agriculture discipline from UP board or any other recognized board/ university with minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ ST candidates) in total.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit to appear for UPSEE 2020 exam.
UPSEE Eligibility 2020 for admission to second year (lateral entry) of BTech programmes (Any branch)
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should complete a three-year engineering diploma recognized by an institution located in UP or Board of Technical Education, UP in any branch of engineering (except Agriculture Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture).
- Minimum qualifying marks: Candidates should score minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates) aggregate marks in their qualifying exam.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit to appear for UPSEE 2020 exam.
UPSEE Eligibility 2020 for admission to second year (lateral entry) of BTech Agriculture
- Educational Qualification: Candidates should complete a three-year Agriculture engineering diploma recognized by an institution located in UP or Board of Technical Education, UP.
- Minimum qualifying marks: Candidates should score minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates) aggregate marks in their qualifying exam.
- Age criteria: There is no age limit to take UPSEE 2020 exam.
Notes (Applicable for all BTech Lateral Entry Courses)
- Candidates who have cleared BSc and Class 12th with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for any lateral entry BTech course. However, the official website informs, “These candidates shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with the candidates belonging to the Diploma stream.”
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in a state other than Uttar Pradesh and whose parents are not domicile of UP State are not eligible to apply for BTech lateral entry course.
- Admissions to BTech lateral entry courses are open only in the institutions affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow.
UPSEE Reservation Criteria 2020
Through UPSEE exam, AKTU offers two types of reservations to candidates: vertical and horizontal. Candidates can check reservation of seats under both types below:

Note: The official website informs, “Candidates can be given only one type of horizontal reservation out of UPFF/ UPAF/ UPHC. However, the female candidates can also claim for any one of UPFF/ UPAF/ UPHC along with UPGL.”
